Position Summary

The Field Safety Manager is responsible for leading and supporting all safety initiatives within the assigned region. This role ensures compliance with federal, state, and local regulatory requirements while promoting a strong safety culture across company operations. The Field Safety Manager provides training, guidance, and support to company and contracted drivers, partners with customer locations to maintain compliance, and serves as a key resource for operational safety, risk management, and emergency response activities.

Qualifications

  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of transportation safety regulations and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Extensive understanding of pneumatic trailer operations and transportation industry best practices.
  • Ability to effectively train, coach, and mentor employees and contractors.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Conduct on-site accident investigations and ensure appropriate follow-up actions are completed.
  • Support incident review processes and assist in identifying root causes and corrective actions.
  • Promote and support Product Integrity initiatives through proactive engagement and immediate response to concerns.
  • Assist with regulatory compliance efforts, including DOT, OSHA, and MSHA requirements.
  • Perform driver observations, road evaluations, inspections, and safety assessments.
  • Develop and deliver driver coaching, retraining, and safety education programs.
  • Conduct customer safety visits, training sessions, and ongoing account support.
  • Monitor and maintain compliance for all assigned regional operations.
  • Coordinate and respond to emergency situations as required.
  • Assist with employee orientation, onboarding, and ongoing safety training programs.
  • Conduct safety audits of terminals, facilities, equipment, and drivers.
  • Partner with Regional and Terminal Managers to provide safety guidance, support, and corrective action recommendations.
  • Identify safety risks and develop strategies to reduce incidents and improve operational performance.
  • Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement throughout the organization.
